RIP: A Remix Manifesto

(forgive me if someone else has already brought this up)... RIP: A Remix Manifesto is a 2009 documentary made by Brett Gaylor and examines the copyright issues in the digital age, by following around his favourite artist Girl Talk, who uses samples of famous songs in order to create his music. Each song has something like an average of 120 tiny snippets of other people's music, so you can understand why Girl Talk has been described as "a lawsuit waiting to happen".

Hopfeully some of you got to see this when it was shown at the International Film Festival a couple of months back, but if not I high recommend you watch it if you're interested in these issues, or just want a good history and explanation of the current copyright laws.

True it its ethos, you can watch it for free online at its official website: http://www.ripremix.com/
